Pedro Martinez won against Facundo Diaz Acosta 7-6 (4), 6-7 (5), 6-1 on Wednesday evening and will play the winner of the match between Brazilian Thiago Seyboth Wild and Frenchman Arthur Fils, the No 3 seed, in the next round
Spaniard Pedro Martinez beat Argentinian Facundo Diaz Acosta, the No 6 seed, 7-6 (4), 6-7 (5), 6-1 to reach the quarter-finals of the Chile Open at Club Universidad Católica de San Carlos de Apoquindo in Santiago de Chile on Wednesday evening.
Martinez, ranked No 101, will play the winner of the match between Brazilian Thiago Seyboth Wild and Frenchman Arthur Fils, the No 3 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Santiago tournament, the Spaniard won against Italian wildcard Francesco Passaro (6-4, 6-1).
Acosta, ranked No 52, edged out Pedro Cachin (5-7, 6-3, 7-6 (2)) in the first round of the Santiago tournament.
