American Ben Shelton, the No 5 seed, finally won against Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut 7-6 (3), 6-3 to advance to the last 16 of the Cincinnati Masters at the Lindner Family Tennis Center on Wednesday.
Shelton, ranked No 6, will face Czech Jiri Lehecka, the No 22 seed, next.
This match was the last third round to be played after Tuesday’s thunder.
