Top seed Taylor Fritz advanced to the last 16 of the Citi Open by winning against qualifier Zachary Svajda 6-3, 6-3 at Rock Creek Park Tennis Center in Washington on Thursday night.
Fritz, ranked No 9, will play No 15 seed Andy Murray next.
In the previous round of the Washington D.C. tournament, Svajda, ranked No 233, edged out Australian Max Purcell (4-6, 7-6 (2), 7-5).
