Croatia Open: Galan upsets Fognini and books spot in second round

Colombian Daniel Elahi Galan advanced to the second round of the Croatia Open by defeating Italian Fabio Fognini, the No 7 seed, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 at the ITC Stella Maris in Umag on Monday evening.
Galan, ranked No 99, will play Italian qualifier Giulio Zeppieri next.
