Dimitrov battles through to semi-finals in Rotterdam

Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 6 seed, edged out Kazakh Alexander Shevchenko 7-6 (2), 3-6, 6-4 to reach the last four of the Rotterdam Open at the Rotterdam Ahoy on Friday.
Dimitrov, ranked No 13, will play the winner of the match between Australian Alex De Minaur, the No 5 seed, and Russian Andrey Rublev, the second seed, next.
Earlier in the tournament, the Bulgarian defeated Italian Lorenzo Sonego (7-6 (4), 6-3) and Hungarian Marton Fucsovics (6-3, 7-5).
Shevchenko, ranked No 57, won against Chinese Zhizhen Zhang (4-6, 6-4, 6-3) and Dane Holger Rune, the No 3 seed (6-4, 1-6, 6-3) in the previous rounds of the Rotterdam tournament.
