Qatar Open: Auger-Aliassime reaches quarter-finals as Medjedovic pulls out

Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime advanced to the quarter-finals of the Qatar Open after Serb Hamad Medjedovic withdrew before the match on Wednesday at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha.
Auger-Aliassime, ranked No 23, will face Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 4 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Doha tournament, the Canadian edged out French qualifier Quentin Halys (4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (2)).
Medjedovic, ranked No 73, edged out Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 6 seed (7-6 (6), 5-7, 7-6 (5)) in the previous round of the Doha tournament.
