Qatar Open: Qualifier O’Connell edges past wildcard Habib to book spot in second round

Australian qualifier Christopher O’Connell won against Lebanese wildcard Hady Habib 7-6 (7), 7-6 (3) to move into the second round of the Qatar Open at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha.

O’Connell, ranked No 82, will face the winner of the match between Australian Alexei Popyrin and No 8 seed Jack Draper next.
