Dubai Open: Coric through to second round after Evans retirement

Croat Borna Coric, the No 8 seed, advanced to the second round of the Dubai Open when Daniel Evans retired on Tuesday at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre.

Coric, ranked No 20, led 2-2 when Evans, ranked No 28, pulled out at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre on Tuesday.

The Croat will play Australian wildcard Thanasi Kokkinakis next.
