American Mackenzie McDonald advanced to the second round of the Dutch Open by beating Belarusian Ilya Ivashka 6-4, 6-3 at the Autotron Rosmalen in s-Hertogenbosch on Tuesday afternoon.
McDonald, ranked No 68, will play No 3 seed Borna Coric next.
