European Open: Gaston saves three match points in shock win over Struff to reach quarter-finals

Hugo Gaston edged out Jan-Lennard Struff 5-7, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (11) on Thursday afternoon and will face German qualifier Maximilian Marterer in the next round

Frenchman Hugo Gaston edged out German Jan-Lennard Struff, the second seed, 5-7, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (11) to move into the quarter-finals of the European Open at the Lotto Arena in Antwerp on Thursday.

Gaston, ranked No 96, saved three match points and will face German qualifier Maximilian Marterer next.

The Frenchman won against Arthur Rinderknech (7-6 (7), 6-4) in the previous round of the Antwerp Open.
