Generali Open: Baez beats qualifier Medjedovic to reach second round
The Argentine will face the winner of the match between countryman Guido Pella and Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena, the No 6 seed, in the next round

Argentina’s Sebastian Baez advanced to the second round of the Generali Open by defeating Serb qualifier Hamad Medjedovic 6-4, 6-2 in Kitzbuhel on Monday.
Baez, a former junior world No 1, improved to 15-12 on clay for the season with this victory. Medjedovic is a former top 10 junior player and reached his first ATP-level semi-final on clay in Gstaad recently.
Baez, ranked No 72 in the world, will play the winner of the match between Argentinian Guido Pella and Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena, the No 6 seed, next.
