Alex Michelsen edged out No 5 seed Maxime Cressy 6-7 (5), 6-4, 7-5 to move into the second round of the Hall of Fame Open at the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum in Newport on Tuesday evening.
Michelsen, ranked No 190, will play the winner of the match between Australian James Duckworth and Frenchman Constant Lestienne next.
