Chilean Nicolas Jarry won against Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the second seed, 7-6 (7), 7-5 to reach the quarter-finals of Halle at the Owl Arena/Gerry-Weber-Stadion on Wednesday afternoon.

Jarry, ranked No 28, will face the winner of the match between German Alexander Zverev, the No 9 seed, and Canadian Denis Shapovalov next.

The Chilean beat Frenchman Corentin Moutet (6-3, 7-5) in the previous round of the Halle Open.

During the first round of the Halle Open, Tsitsipas, ranked No 5, edged out Frenchman Gregoire Barrere (6-7 (6), 6-4, 7-6 (3)).
