Halle Open: Hurkacz reaches quarter-finals

Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 5 seed, moved into the last eight of the Halle Open by defeating Australian qualifier James Duckworth 7-6 (3), 6-4 at the Owl Arena/Gerry-Weber-Stadion on Thursday.
Hurkacz, ranked No 9, will face the winner of the match between Italian Matteo Berrettini and American Marcos Giron next.
The Pole won against Italian Flavio Cobolli (7-5, 7-6 (2)) in the previous round of the Halle tournament.
In the previous round of the Halle tournament, Duckworth, ranked No 88, won against Brazilian wildcard Joao Fonseca (6-4, 6-4).
