Halle Open: Khachanov beats Etcheverry to set up semi-final against Bublik

Karen Khachanov, the No 8 seed, won against Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry 6-3, 6-2 to reach the last four of the Halle Open at the Owl Arena/Gerry-Weber-Stadion.
The Russian eased past the big-hitting Argentine, breaking once in the first set and twice in the second without reply to seal a comfortable win and set up a semi-final against a tricky opponent in Halle.
Khachanov, ranked No 22, will face Kazakh Alexander Bublik next.
Ahead of his victory, the Russian beat Belgian Zizou Bergs (7-5, 6-3) and Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime (6-3, 1-6, 6-3).
Etcheverry, ranked No 63, defeated Spaniard Pedro Martinez Portero (6-1, 6-3) and edged out Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 4 seed (6-3, 6-7 (4), 7-6 (6)) earlier in the tournament.
