Hamburg Open: Baez into semi-finals
Sebastian Baez edged out Luciano Darderi 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 on Friday. He’ll play the winner of the match between Frenchman Arthur Fils, the No 5 seed, and Dane Holger Rune, the second seed, in the next round

Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the No 3 seed, edged out Italian Luciano Darderi, the No 7 seed, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 to reach the semi-finals of the Hamburg Open at the Rothenbaum Tennis Center.
Baez, ranked No 19, will face the winner of the match between Frenchman Arthur Fils, the No 5 seed, and Dane Holger Rune, the second seed, next.
In the previous rounds of the Hamburg tournament, the Argentinian won against German Dominik Koepfer (6-2, 6-3) and Serb Dusan Lajovic (4-6, 7-5, 6-2).
Darderi, ranked No 35, defeated Dominican lucky loser Nick Hardt (6-1, 2-6, 6-0) and Kazakh Alexander Shevchenko (6-3, 2-6, 6-3) earlier in the tournament.
