Croat Borna Coric defeated Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the last 8 of the Hamburg Open at Am Rothenbaum on Wednesday.
Coric, ranked No 183, will face the winner of the match between Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta, the No 4 seed, and Slovak Alex Molcan next.
The Croat won against Serb Laslo Djere (1-6, 7-6 (4), 6-3) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round, Griekspoor, ranked No 47, won against Dane Holger Rune, the No 8 seed (7-6 (8), 7-5).
