Houston Open: Nakashima eases past Hijikata
Brandon Nakashima won against Rinky Hijikata 6-1, 6-4 on Wednesday night and will face the winner of the match between American Ben Shelton, the top seed, and Belgian Zizou Bergs in the next round

American Brandon Nakashima beat Australian Rinky Hijikata 6-1, 6-4 to advance to the last eight of the Houston Open at River Oaks Country Club on Wednesday night.
Nakashima, ranked No 92, will play the winner of the match between American Ben Shelton, the top seed, and Belgian Zizou Bergs next.
Ahead of his victory, the 22-year-old American won against Croat Duje Ajdukovic (6-1, 6-4).
Hijikata, ranked No 80, won against American Christopher Eubanks, the No 5 seed (7-6 (4), 7-6 (2)) in the previous round of the Houston tournament.
