Indian Wells Masters: Paul eases past Humbert to reach last 16

American Tommy Paul, the No 17 seed, beat Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the No 14 seed, 6-4, 6-4 to move into the last 16 of the Indian Wells Masters at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

Paul, ranked No 17, will play the winner of the match between Serb Novak Djokovic, the top seed, and Italian lucky loser Luca Nardi next.

The American beat Alex Michelsen (6-2, 6-2) ahead of his victory.

In the previous round of the Indian Wells Tennis Masters, Humbert, ranked No 14, defeated American wildcard Patrick Kypson (6-4, 6-4).
