“It seems to me that Sinner has understood what he needs” – Djokovic

The Serb believes it is necessary to achieve the right balance between professional and personal life to remain at the top for many years

Novak Djokovic is the most successful player in men’s tennis history and the player with the most Grand Slam singles titles on the men’s side. But the 37-year-old believes that the current world no 1, Jannik Sinner, does not need any advice from him.

Sinner rose to the top of the world rankings this year after winning two of the four Grand Slams and compiling an incredible 73-6 win-loss record.

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport when asked what advice he would have for Sinner, Djokovic responded, “It seems to me that he is doing well even without my advice. However, one thing is to win the first two Slams and become No 1, and another thing is to maintain that level for many years. To do that, you first have to surround yourself with a competent team that you can trust. It is also necessary to achieve the right balance between professional and personal life.”

“But ultimately, we are all different in an individual sport. So what works for me may not necessarily work for him. However, it seems to me that Jannik has understood what he needs. The next goal will be to find the right formula to invest in his body in the best way to prevent injuries, stay healthy, motivated, and above all, passionate about tennis.”
