Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 8 seed, ended a five-match losing streak as he beat Australian Aleksandar Vukic 7-6 (3), 6-7 (2), 6-2 to reach the second round of the Japan Open at the Ariake Colosseum in Tokyo on Monday.

Auger-Aliassime, ranked No 17, will play Austrian Sebastian Ofner next. It was his first win since Cincinnati in August.
