Los Cabos Open: Thompson saves three matchpoints to reach semis
Jordan Thompson edged out Alex Michelsen 0-6, 7-6 (1), 7-5 on Thursday and will play German Alexander Zverev, the top seed, in the next round

Jordan Thompson, the No 8 seed, saved three matchpoints and advanced to the semi-finals of the Los Cabos Open on Thursday.
The Australian trailed American Alex Michelsen 6-0, 4-1 (40-15) before fighting back and saving three matchpoints in the second set to force a decider.
In the third set, Thompson once again came back from 5-3 down to finally claim the 0-6, 7-6 (1), 7-5 at the Cabo del Mar Sports Center.
Thompson, ranked No 40, will face German Alexander Zverev, the top seed, next.
Earlier in the tournament, the Australian defeated Mexican wildcard Ernesto Escobedo (6-4, 6-3) and American qualifier Emilio Nava (7-6 (5), 6-3).
Michelsen, ranked No 74, won against Frenchman Constant Lestienne (6-3, 7-6 (3)) and Australian Alex De Minaur, the No 3 seed (6-4, 6-1) in the previous rounds of the Los Cabos tournament.
