Madrid Masters: Nakashima downs Cobolli to make last 16
Brandon Nakashima beat Flavio Cobolli 7-5, 6-3 on Sunday and will face the winner of the match between Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 9 seed, and Argentinian qualifier Juan Manuel Cerundolo in the next round

American Brandon Nakashima, the No 31 seed, moved into the last 16 of the Madrid Masters by beating Italian Flavio Cobolli 7-5, 6-3 at the Caja Mágica on Sunday.
Nakashima, ranked No 32, will play the winner of the match between Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 9 seed, and Argentinian qualifier Juan Manuel Cerundolo next.
Ahead of his victory, the American won against Austrian Sebastian Ofner (6-3, 7-6 (3)).
Cobolli, ranked No 36, won against Hungarian Fabian Marozsan (7-6 (4), 7-5) and Dane Holger Rune, the No 8 seed (6-2 ret.) in the previous rounds of the Madrid tournament.
