Italian wildcard Fabio Fognini moved into the second round of the Mallorca Open by winning against Dutch lucky loser Gijs Brouwer 7-6 (4), 7-6 (5) at Mallorca Country Club.
Fognini, ranked No 97, will play the winner of the match between American Christopher Eubanks, the No 8 seed, and Jakub Mensik next.
