Marrakech Open: Griekspoor advances to final

Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor, the top seed, reached the final of the Marrakech Open by winning against Pole qualifier Kamil Majchrzak 7-5, 7-6 (3) at Royal Tennis Club de Marrakech on Saturday.

Griekspoor needed an hour, 48 minutes to overcome Majchrzak. He hit ten aces, 27 winners and broke his opponent twice to come through.

Griekspoor, ranked No 37, will face Italian Luciano Darderi, the No 7 seed, next.

In the previous rounds of the Marrakech tournament, the Dutchman beat Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta (7-6 (1), 3-6, 6-3) and Italian Mattia Bellucci, the No 8 seed (6-3, 6-4).

Majchrzak, ranked No 122, won against Spaniard Jaume Munar, the No 6 seed (6-4, 6-3), Dutchman Jesper De Jong (7-6 (3), 6-1) and Frenchman Alexandre Muller, the No 3 seed (7-5, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
