Marrakech Open: Carballes Baena advances to quarter-finals after Kuzmanov retirement

Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena reached the quarter-finals of the Marrakech Open when Bulgarian qualifier Dimitar Kuzmanov retired on Thursday at the Royal Tennis Club de Marrakech.
Carballes Baena, ranked No 82, led 2-0 when Kuzmanov, ranked No 207, pulled out on Thursday at the Royal Tennis Club de Marrakech.
The Spaniard will play the winner of the match between Swedish qualifier Elias Ymer and Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor, the No 4 seed, next.
Roberto Carballes Baena beat American Maxime Cressy, the No 5 seed (6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-1) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round of the Moroccan Open, the Bulgarian won against French lucky loser Hugo Grenier (6-3, 6-4).
