Carballes Baena beat Nuno Borges 6-4, 6-4 in Friday’s quarter-final action

Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena, the No 5 seed, moved into the semi-finals of the Marrakech Open by winning against Portuguese Nuno Borges, the No 4 seed, 6-4, 6-4 at Royal Tennis Club de Marrakech on Friday.
Carballes Baena, ranked No 51, will play Italian Luciano Darderi, the No 7 seed, next.
The Spaniard defeated Moroccan wildcard Taha Baadi (7-6 (3), 6-3) and Finn Otto Virtanen (6-4, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous round, Borges, ranked No 43, edged out Belgian Raphael Collignon (6-2, 3-6, 7-6).
