Frenchman Alexandre Muller won against Italian Francesco Passaro 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the last eight of the Marrakech Open at the Royal Tennis Club de Marrakech on Thursday.
Muller, ranked No 126, will face Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the top seed, next.
The Frenchman beat No 6 seed Richard Gasquet (6-4, 6-4) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round of the Moroccan Open, Passaro, ranked No 115, defeated Russian Aslan Karatsev (7-5, 3-6, 6-3).
