Hugo Gaston advanced to the second round of the Metz Open by beating lucky loser Titouan Droguet 7-6 (6), 4-6, 6-3 at the Arènes de Metz on Tuesday afternoon.
Gaston, ranked No 81, will face Belgian Zizou Bergs next.
