Metz Open: Humbert routs Fognini to reach final

Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the No 4 seed, won against Italian wildcard Fabio Fognini 6-0, 6-2 to reach the final of the Metz Open at Arènes de Metz on Friday evening.
Humbert, ranked No 23, will face Russian Alexander Shevchenko next.
Ahead of his victory, the Frenchman beat Austrian Dominic Thiem (7-6 (5), 4-6, 6-3) and qualifier Harold Mayot (6-3, 7-5).
Fognini, ranked No 147, won against Brazilian Thiago Seyboth Wild (7-6 (3), 7-6 (9)), Kazakh Alexander Bublik, the No 5 seed (4-6, 7-6 (7), 7-6 (5)) and No 6 seed Lorenzo Sonego (6-1, 6-2) in the previous rounds of the Metz tournament.
