Miami Masters: Fritz reaches third round
Taylor Fritz defeated Lorenzo Sonego 7-6 (2), 6-3 on Saturday and will face the winner of the match between Argentinian qualifier Thiago Agustin Tirante and Canadian Denis Shapovalov, the No 27 seed, in the next round

American Taylor Fritz, the No 3 seed, moved into the third round of the Miami Masters by winning against Italian Lorenzo Sonego 7-6 (2), 6-3 at the Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday.
This is his tenth win at the Miami tournament in his ninth appearance. He has made at least the fourth round in three of the last four editions – the exception being a second-round exit at the hands of Thiago Seyboth Wild last year.
Fritz, ranked No 4, will play the winner of the match between Argentinian qualifier Thiago Agustin Tirante and Canadian Denis Shapovalov, the No 27 seed, next.
Sonego, ranked No 38, beat Argentinian Mariano Navone (7-5, 7-5) in the previous round of the Miami Open.
