Miami Masters: Musetti makes last 16, knocks out Auger-Aliassime

Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 15 seed, advanced to the last 16 of the Miami Masters by defeating Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 18 seed, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 at the Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday.

It is Musetti’s first Top 20 win since he beat Alexander Zverev in the Vienna quarter-finals in October last year.

He is now through to his first fourth round at a Masters 1000 or Grand Slam event this season.

Musetti, ranked No 16, will face the winner of the match between Argentinian lucky loser Camilo Ugo Carabelli and Serb Novak Djokovic, the No 4 seed, next.

The Italian edged out Frenchman Quentin Halys (3-6, 7-6 (4), 7-5) in the previous round of the Miami Open.

During the second round of the Miami Open, Auger-Aliassime, ranked No 19, won against Australian qualifier Tristan Schoolkate (6-4, 6-4).
