Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 15 seed, won against Monégasque wildcard Valentin Vacherot 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 to reach the last 16 of the Monte-Carlo Masters at Monte-Carlo Country Club on Wednesday evening.
Dimitrov, ranked No 18, will face Chilean Alejandro Tabilo next.
The 33-year-old Bulgarian defeated Chilean Nicolas Jarry (6-3, 6-4) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round of the Monte-Carlo tournament, Vacherot, ranked No 255, won against German Jan-Lennard Struff (6-2, 6-1).
