Monte-Carlo Masters: Sonego moves into last 16, knocks out Auger-Aliassime

Italian lucky loser Lorenzo Sonego won against Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-4, 7-5 to reach the last 16 of the Monte-Carlo Masters at Monte-Carlo Country Club on Wednesday.

Sonego, ranked No 57, will play the winner of the match between Chinese Zhizhen Zhang and Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the No 14 seed, next.

In the previous round of the Monte-Carlo tournament, Auger-Aliassime, ranked No 35, beat Italian qualifier Luca Nardi (6-2, 6-3).
