Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta advanced to the last 16 of the Montreal Masters by winning against Dane Holger Rune 6-0, 6-3 at Stade IGA on Wednesday evening.
Carreno Busta, ranked No 23, will face the winner of the match between Italian Jannik Sinner, the No 7 seed, and French qualifier Adrian Mannarino next.
The Spaniard beat Italian Matteo Berrettini, the No 11 seed (6-3, 6-2) in the previous round of the Coupe Rogers.
In the previous round of the Coupe Rogers, Rune, ranked No 26, won against Italian qualifier Fabio Fognini (6-3, 7-5).
