Montreal Masters: Korda continues fine form with win over Fritz, through to last 16

Sebastian Korda edged past No 9 seed Taylor Fritz 6-4, 7-6 (4) to advance to the last 16 of the Montreal Masters at Stade IGA.

Korda, ranked No 18, will play Norwegian Casper Ruud, the No 6 seed, next.

Sebastian Korda benefited from the abandonment of Canadian wildcard Vasek Pospisil (2-1) in the previous round of the Rogers Cup.

In the first round of the Rogers Cup, Fritz, ranked No 13, beat Argentinian Mariano Navone (6-4, 6-1).
