Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 9 seed, advanced to the quarter-finals of Paris Masters by beating German Daniel Altmaier 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 at the Paris La Défense Arena on Thursday afternoon.

Auger-Aliassime, ranked No 10, will play Monégasque wildcard Valentin Vacherot next.

The Canadian edged out Frenchman Alexandre Muller (5-7, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (4)) and won against Argentinian qualifier Francisco Comesana (6-7 (2), 6-3, 6-3) earlier in the tournament, despite his retirement at Basel for a knee pain, that he’s keeping under control in Paris.

With this win, Auger-Aliassime, current No.9, remains in contention to qualify for his second Nitto ATP Finals after 2022.

In the previous rounds of the Paris Masters tournament, Altmaier, ranked No 50, won against Norwegian Casper Ruud, the No 8 seed (6-3, 7-5) and American Marcos Giron (6-2, 7-6 (5)).
