Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 5 seed, beat Japanese qualifier Yoshihito Nishioka 6-4, 6-3 to advance to the last 16 of Paris Masters at the Accor Arena

Rublev, ranked No 5, will play the winner of the match between American Tommy Paul, the No 12 seed, and Dutch qualifier Botic van de Zandschulp next.

Nishioka, ranked No 49, won against Australian lucky loser Jordan Thompson (7-6 (5), 4-6, 6-2) in the previous round of the Paris-Bercy tournament.
