Paris Masters: Vacherot through to last 8
Valentin Vacherot won against Cameron Norrie 7-6 (4), 6-4 on Thursday and will face the winner of the match between Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 9 seed, and German Daniel Altmaier in the next round

Monégasque wildcard Valentin Vacherot moved into the last eight of Paris Masters by winning against Englishman Cameron Norrie 7-6 (4), 6-4 at the Paris La Défense Arena on Thursday.
Vacherot, ranked No 40, will play the winner of the match between Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 9 seed, and German Daniel Altmaier next.
Winner of the Shanghai Masters as he was world No.204 three weeks ago, the Monégasque edged out French wildcard Arthur Rinderknech (6-7 (9), 6-3, 6-4) and beat Czech Jiri Lehecka, the No 14 seed (6-1, 6-3), before this win over Alcaraz’s conqueror.
Norrie, ranked No 31, edged out Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the top seed (4-6, 6-3, 6-4) and defeated Argentinian Sebastian Baez (6-3, 6-4) in the previous rounds of the Paris Masters tournament.
