Pune Open: Second seed Van de Zandschulp through to semi-finals

Botic van de Zandschulp won against Maximilian Marterer 6-4, 6-2 on Thursday. He’ll face Benjamin Bonzi in the next round

Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp, the second seed, moved into the last four of the Pune Open by winning against German qualifier Maximilian Marterer 6-4, 6-2 at the Mhalunge Balewadi Tennis Complex on Thursday.

Van de Zandschulp, ranked No 35, will face the winner of the match between Serb Filip Krajinovic, the No 6 seed, and Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi next.

In the previous round, the Dutchman defeated Italian qualifier Flavio Cobolli (7-5, 6-4).

Marterer, ranked No 159, won against Swede qualifier Elias Ymer (6-2, 3-6, 6-3) and Serb Laslo Djere (7-6 (5), 6-2) on his way to the last eight.
