Qatar Open: Karatsev retires, Kubler through to second round

Australian Jason Kubler moved into the second round of the Qatar Open when Russian Aslan Karatsev retired on Monday at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha.
Kubler, ranked No 74, led 7-6 (4), 1-0 when Karatsev, ranked No 101, pulled out at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha on Monday afternoon.
The Australian will face second seed Felix Auger-Aliassime next.
