Qatar Open: Rublev books spot in quarter-finals

Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 5 seed, won against Portuguese Nuno Borges 6-3, 6-4 to move into the last eight of the Qatar Open at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha on Wednesday.
Rublev needed an hour, three minutes to complete the win against Borges. He hit an impressive 11 aces and broke his Portuguese opponent twice during the match.
Rublev, ranked No 10, will face Australian Alex De Minaur, the second seed, next.
The Russian defeated Kazakh Alexander Bublik (6-3, 6-4) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round of the Doha tournament, Borges, ranked No 39, won against Finnish lucky loser Otto Virtanen (7-6 (6), 6-3).
