Queen’s: Musetti knocks off Shelton to advance to quarter-finals

Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 6 seed, reached the quarter-finals of the cinch Championships by edging out American Ben Shelton 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 at Queen’s Club in London on Wednesday.

Musetti, ranked No 16, will face the winner of the match between wildcard Ryan Peniston and Dane Holger Rune, the second seed, next.

The 21-year-old Italian won against wildcard Jan Choinski (6-4, 6-2) in the previous round of the Queen’s Championships.

In the previous round of the Queen’s Championships, Shelton, ranked No 35, beat lucky loser J.J. Wolf (7-6 (4), 7-6 (2)).
