Queen’s: Dane Rune edges out Cressy for first ever grass-court victory

Holger Rune defeated Maxime Cressy 7-6 (4), 7-6 (3) on Tuesday afternoon and will face wildcard Ryan Peniston in the next round

Dane Holger Rune, the second seed, moved into the second round of the Queen’s by beating American Maxime Cressy 7-6 (4), 7-6 (3) at Queen’s Club in London on Tuesday.

Rune, ranked No 6, will face wildcard Ryan Peniston next.

Cressy led 5-2 in the opening set before a series of double faults allowed Rune back into the match and in the second-set tiebreak, the American double-faulted on match point as the 20-year-old secured the win.
