Rio Open: Baez reaches semi-finals
Sebastian Baez beat Chun-Hsin Tseng 6-4, 6-1 on Friday evening and will play the winner of the match between Argentinian lucky loser Camilo Ugo Carabelli and Portuguese lucky loser Jaime Faria in the next round

Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the No 5 seed, defeated qualifier Chun-Hsin Tseng 6-4, 6-1 to reach the last 4 of the Rio Open at the Jockey Club Brasileiro in Rio de Janeiro on Friday evening.
Defending champion Baez is now 10-2 lifetime in Rio. He has won eight in a row at Rio and is two matches from becoming the first two-time champion in tournament history.
Baez, ranked No 31, will play the winner of the match between Argentinian lucky loser Camilo Ugo Carabelli and Portuguese lucky loser Jaime Faria next.
The Argentinian won against lucky loser Roman Andres Burruchaga (6-3, 7-5) and Mariano Navone (6-4, 1-6, 6-3) ahead of his victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Tseng, ranked No 125, beat Chilean Alejandro Tabilo, the No 3 seed (6-2, 7-5) and edged out Brazilian wildcard Thiago Monteiro (6-7 (4), 6-3, 7-6 (4)).
