Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 8 seed, advanced to the third round of the Rome Masters by winning against Finnish qualifier Otto Virtanen 6-3, 6-2 at the Foro Italico on Friday afternoon.
Musetti, ranked No 9, will play American Brandon Nakashima, the No 28 seed, next.
Virtanen, ranked No 130, beat Serb Hamad Medjedovic (6-4, 6-4) in the previous round of the Italian Open.
