Rome Masters: Paul advances to last 16

American Tommy Paul, the No 14 seed, won against German Dominik Koepfer 6-4, 6-3 to move into the last 16 of the Rome Masters at the Foro Italico in Rome on Monday afternoon.
Paul, ranked No 16, will face the winner of the match between Serb qualifier Hamad Medjedovic and Russian Daniil Medvedev, the second seed, next.
The American beat Russian Aslan Karatsev (6-4, 6-2) ahead of his victory.
In the previous rounds of the Italian Open, Koepfer, ranked No 52, defeated Italian wildcard Andrea Vavassori (6-4, 6-3) and American Frances Tiafoe, the No 22 seed (6-4, 6-2).
