Rublev battles past Fils to reach semi-finals in Hong Kong

Russian Andrey Rublev, the top seed, won against Frenchman Arthur Fils, the No 8 seed, 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 to advance to the semi-finals of the Hong Kong Open at the Victoria Park Tennis Stadium in Hong Kong on Friday.
Rublev, ranked No 5, will face Chinese wildcard Juncheng Shang next.
Ahead of his victory, the Russian defeated qualifier Liam Broady (6-4, 7-6 (8)).
Fils, ranked No 36, beat Croat Borna Gojo (6-3, 4-6, 6-1) and Swiss qualifier Marc-Andrea Huesler (7-5, 7-5) in the previous rounds of the Hong Kong tournament.
