‘s-Hertogenbosch Open: Hurkacz withdraws, qualifier Lajal through to quarter-finals

Estonian qualifier Mark Lajal reached the quarter-finals of the’s-Hertogenbosch Open after Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 5 seed, withdrew before the match on Thursday at the Autotron Rosmalen.

Lajal, ranked No 195, will play the winner of the match between Australian Alexei Popyrin, the No 4 seed, and Belgian Zizou Bergs next.

Ahead of his victory, the 22-year-old Estonian won against Serb Laslo Djere (6-2, 6-4).

Hurkacz, ranked No 32, defeated Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut (7-6 (2), 6-4) in the previous round of the Rosmalen tournament.
