Russian Karen Khachanov, the No 3 seed, reached the quarter-finals of the’s-Hertogenbosch Open by edging out American qualifier Mackenzie McDonald 6-3, 5-7, 7-6 (4) at the Autotron Rosmalen on Wednesday.
Khachanov, ranked No 24, will play Canadian Gabriel Diallo next.
In the previous round of the Rosmalen tournament, McDonald, ranked No 99, beat Italian Mattia Bellucci (6-1, 6-7 (4), 6-3).
